Winner of CHNC challenge extra for January

What a fantastic start to this new challenge blog and to the new year. It is so good to see so many of you continuing to use your Christmas supplies to get ahead of the game and start to pile up your Christmas cards rather than getting into a panic later in the year. I've been overwhelmed by the number of entries - thank you so much.

Unfortunately, there could only be one winner and this is the result of using random.org:

Number 103: Karen
who shared this lovely card:

Congratulations, Karen! Please email me at hazelharris@ntlworld.com so I can arrange for you to claim your $21 of digital stamps from Bugaboo Stamps.

February's challenge is here

I look forward to seeing your entries

And, once again, there will be a prize of $21 of digital stamps from Bugaboo Stamps
for the randomly chosen winner

CHNC challenge extra for January

Happy New Year and Welcome

Welcome to the first CHNC challenge extra. This challenge will last for the whole month of January.

Now that Christmas 2012 is over, please don't put away your Christmas stash - make as many cards as you can now to avoid panic later in the year. Perhaps you can make it a New Year's resolution.

All of these monthly challenges are being generously sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps - a winner will be randomly chosen using random.

Bugaboo Stamps are proud to sponsor this challenge - they are offering $21 of digital stamps to the randomly selected winner.

Everything That You Ever Wanted to Know About Bugaboo Stamps: A Short Essay
As if raising five children in the frozen land of the North was not enough of a challenge, Jodie Mackrell decided to dip her cold little Canadian toes into the world of papercrafting by opening an online store full of her illustrations. That was two years ago. Today Bugaboo Stamps is one of the leading companies in digital images, and we're still growing!  From seriously snarky to sugary sweet to sublimely soulful all the way over to the other side of the super sexy spectrum, you're bound to find all that you need and more to create your paper projects.  Jodie works very hard to provide New Releases and Freebies every week!
If your taste runs to rubber (and you know who you are), you can find Bugaboo Stamps   at Totally Stampalicious. And finally, join the Bugaboo Stamps DT   for weekly challenges at Catch the Bug

Every month I will be joined by a Guest Designer and for January I am pleased to welcome Fiona of Flossbite crafts, who writes:

'I work part-time in a well known chemist, which I've done for 22 years (I'm 42 now so it's been my only real job). I'm married to Rich, and we have two great kids, one of each, aged 8 and 14. We have one cat, aged 16, and one pup , aged 7 months. I make cards for pure enjoyment for family and friends. I've been making them for about eight years now. I don't really stick to one theme as I like trying all sorts, but if I had to pick a favourite, it would be colouring Mo Manning stamps, and making easel cards. I'm lucky enough to have my own little craft room so I can go and tuck myself away whenever time allows.'

Fiona and I were supplied with Bugaboo images to use and for this card Fiona used 'chimney Santa' and 'winter circle sentiments: chimney' - you can read more about Fiona's card on her blog here - please visit and leave her a comment.

And here are two more lovely cards from Fiona - the first one uses 'Sign it - Christmas Edward by Bugaboo Stamps - you can read about it here on Fiona' blog:

And here is Fiona's next card - she has used 'Poppi-xmas-tree' image - you can read about it here:

And another from Fiona, this time using 'Noel' from Bugaboo Stamps - you can read about it here on Fiona's blog:

For my first card I've used Bugaboo 'AKV Santa' and 'stocking mouse' - you can read more about it here on My Crafty Outlook:

And here's another card I've made - more details here on My Crafty Outlook:

Just adding another card which is for today's (Saturday 5 January) CHNC challenge 106 - can read more about it here (don't forget that any card you enter into the CHNC challenge 106 can also be added here.

And another - details here:

And another that you can find here:

Today (Saturday 12 January) I'm adding another card that I made for CHNC challenge 107 - don't forget that any entries there can also be linked here - using 'snow friends window' image from Bugaboo Stamps - you can read about it here:

You may add any Christmas card to this challenge -
it's 'anything goes' every month

There really aren't any rules as such - just have a look at what I've written on the right hand sidebar and join in! You may link as many entries as you like as long as they weren't blogged before 1 January 2013.

Weekly challenges will continue on my CHNC challenge blog - these usually have a theme - but any card that you enter there can be entered here as well, so you increase your chance of winning a prize.

And, of course, you can chat about this monthly challenge extra blog on the CHNC facebook page as well - if you haven't joined that yet, please follow the link and 'like' the page.

I look forward to seeing all your Christmas cards - the more you make now the easier life will be when it gets towards November and December - it makes sense!

I look forward to seeing what you come up with for this challenge - please add a link to your blog post (not your blog, but the actual post where your card can be found) by 20:00 UK time Thursday 31 January.  Please mention my blog and create a link within the post for your creation. The winner will be announced at 23:00 UK  time on 31 January. February's challenge will begin at midnight on 1 February.

Please add your link to inlinkz. If by any chance it disappears, please leave a comment with the link to your blog post and I will make sure it is added.

If you haven't done so already, please become a follower and grab my bright pink button to post on your sidebar and help continue to spread the word about this challenge blog - thank you.

It's not long now ...

... till the start of 2013. Yes, I know we are all thinking about Christmas now and rightly so, but New Year isn't far round the corner and that means that preparations need to be made for this CHNC challenge extra blog to get off the ground.

Please don't put your Christmas stash away once the big day has been and gone, but think about making cards throughout the year to ease the pressure that tends to build up towards the end of November and beginning of December.

If you've visited here before you will remember that I gave the opportunity for crafters to put their names forward as potential guest designers. I now have six willing crafters waiting in the wings, but would welcome others to apply. So if you are interested, please leave me a comment to tell me.

Please don't forget to have a look at my CHNC page on facebook - if you do go there please join in by clicking 'like' so that I know that you've been there. Thank you to those who have expressed a wish to be considered for a guest designer slot next year. If you didn't link in the previous post, please leave a comment here and I'll include you on the list.

Introducing Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Monthly Extra challenges

This blog is a 'spin off' from my Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge blog that has now been running successfully for nearly two years.

Starting at the beginning of 2013 I challenge you to add any Christmas card to this blog - challenges will be monthly, with a prize at the end of the month for a randomly chosen winner.

Bugaboo Stamps have very kindly agreed to sponsor every monthly challenge with a $21 prize of the winner's choice of digitial stamps.

Weekly challenges will continue on my Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge blog, so please continue to support them.

To launch this new extra blog, I'm giving away some Christmas candy:

2 'the red line' topper & paper pack, each containing:
1 topper sheet & 2 coordinated papers
2 C5 blank cards and envelopes
6 x 6 pad of 36 Berry Merry Christmas papers
6 x 6 pad of 24 My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Christmas papers
A pack of 10 A6 red card blanks with square apertures
S et of Classic Christmas Promarkers

Anyone can take part - I'm willing to post to anywhere in the world. The draw for the winner (randomly chosen) will take place at midnight UK time on 30 November, which will allow time to send them ahead of the Christmas mail - and, of course, the winner will have some lovely goodies to play along with the challenges in the new year.

All I ask is that you spread the word of my new blog and the prize I'm giving away to the winner, by becoming a follower and create a blog post and, if possible, also put my pink button in your sidebar, telling people that the extra monthly challenges will begin on 1 January 2013.

When you've become a follower and created a blogpost and/or put my blinkie in your sidebar, please leave a link to your blogpost in the linky below.

Please remember to have a look at my CHNC page on facebook - if you do go there please join in by clicking 'like' so that I know that you've been there. During the week you'll find updates and hints of the next challenge - please feel free to chat there - I know that some of you do already - thank you. Let's see if we can get at least 100 'likes' by the end of the year.

And, of course, please continue to support my weekly challenges on my Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge blog - the latest one is challenge 96: no patterned paper.
